At Stuart Road we continue to invest in not only the physical but also mental well-being of our children and have identified a need for a scheme of work to be put in place which allows for the continued delivery of high quality PE sessions in the form of REAL PE. REAL PE is highly inclusive and is designed to engage children of all abilities.
After school PE clubs have also been mapped out and introduced to give every child a wider scope of activities, which change termly, linking to our current PE curriculum. This has also allowed for additional opportunities as well such as Plymouth Patriots coming and delivering sessions as well as participating in competitive sports again through the Plymouth Schools Sports Partnership programme. Year 5 children will also begin to take annual swimming lessons at the Plymouth Life Centre in the new year.
We also have links with the College of St. Mark and St. John (Marjons), where we have the opportunity to use their facilities and additional coaching from their student PE teachers- this is open to Years 4, 5 and 6.
Finally, we are also taking part in the Plymouth School Challenge, where staff and children will have the opportunity to take part in the half marathon around the city - further information to follow.
